my wisdom

stay positive think clean, stop take time and breath while planning ahead

Good reminders!

I took this course becasue I wanted to start at the beginning and found it to be a good reminder of principles that are practiced in my workplace.  While I don't think I learned anything specifically new, I did appreciated the questions around what to do when I am unsure if a decision is ethical or not.  Sometimes it feels very grey and can be hard to judge.  The questions offered will be helpful to bring clarity.  So, I guess I did learn something!  Thanks!!

Don't Panic!

Famous words by Douglas Adams.

Yes I scored high on this assessment, but for good reasons.  And I know its only temporary.

Optimism and resiliance are keys to adapting and dealing with stress.

Tada!

Best Practices

Hi, I think the course is very good, because we learned how to handle the crisis, from identification, to how to resolve conflicts.

Management Goals

Great read!!

Look at the overall picture

After doing this seminar I have leaned to work on myself and to see the bigger picture. I should always keep goals in mind and to make sure I am the best employee I can be for my school, staff, students, and myself. It is important to take a step back and assess yourself to see if you the best fit at the position

All jobs have stress

I chose to do this tutorial because I feel like I could manage my stress better and I know the cosmetology field can result in burn out very easily. There were some good tips that help distinguish burn out. It can happen to anyone and it is important to manage stress before it gets to that point.

My Favorite Tutorial

This is my favorite tutorial I have taken so far! I loved it! I learned a lot about honestly assessing myself. There are always ares to improve and I thought the information was helpful. I especially liked the portion about supervisors setting the tone for the rest of the employees/students. It reminded me to always present myself in a positive way. This example alone can help contribute to a positive work place.

What did I learn............

It is all about attitude and how you portray yourself and how others perceive you. No one is perfect but a good working relationship among co-workers is the first step towards a better working environment.

A few simple key issues to be addressed and implemented are;

A good communications network

A better understanding of one another

Transparency with accounting

stress

Very helpful

look at you building a career

looking and focusing on why we are here brings us back to what our commitment was to ourselves and the work we are supose to accomplish

Personal

Great infomation!

How you are at work it effects your employes

as someone that is in a higher position you need to set examples for others to learn from you . You need to know how to handle stress at work and not take credit for something that you haven't done and encourage your other employes for the ideas that they came up with so they would start working better And set examples for others .

Self awareness

Being aware of how your actions are an example to those around you is very important. It is very easy to not think about this when you feel very busy, but it is true that you lead by example. Hopefully, it is a good one! That is what I aspire too.

Handling Stress

I found the exercise quite helpful.  It confirmed much of what we already know about success but often do not practise.  It served, therefore, as a motivator.

Stress

Stress affects each of us in different ways. The more stressed out we are the more vulnerable we are to colds, flu, and a host of chronic or life-threatening illnesses. And the less open we are to the beauty and pleasure of life.

Managing Workplace Challenges

I learned to basically follow the old addage--'It is far better to err on the side of compassion than justice."

You never quite know for sure what people are going through and you don't want to make the situation worse for them and possibly for yourself as a manager/leader.

The caution, however, is to have back-up plans to get the work completed despite the obstacles.

Training

I will strive to keep myself up to date on recent policy changes and understand them so I can pass them on to others.

What I have learned

I learned that people lead by example and has given me some insight on how I can improve myself.

What I have learned from this tutorial

What I have learned most from this tutorial is that the best and most effective managers lead by example.  This means that they practice good work habits, and show their employees how to be effective workers.
