Hello all,
This is my first position in Higher Education and as an Admission Representative. The first module was informative. I gained more clarity on the importance on having licenses, such as (the agent license) and why it is important to understand the different terms used in admissions. Before starting this training, I did not understand the importance in knowing about the marketing at this school, or the type of advertising at this school, but it is important as an Admission Representative to know how these things are done because that is what draws our potential students to this school.
Hello everyone,
This is my first full time admissions position and this chapter of the compliance training has been very informative thus far. Through this chapter i was able to learn various definitions of words and terms that are currently used throughout the admissions department. Besides this, it was also very interesting to learn about the legal aspects of this position and the licensure requirements that goes into this position. I'm elated to learn more about the ins and outs of the admissions department and everything that it entails.
So far I have learned the importance of making sure to adhere to the rules, statues and regulations set by the state. Also understanding what the different terms/definitions are, what they mean and how they apply to my role. Amongst many other things I have learned, I am gaining a greater understanding of just how important my role is and how it affects the students.
ADMISSION PERSONAL HAS TO ABIDE BY THE RULES SET BY THE STATE TO REMAIN EFFICIENT.
I have learned many definitions and their importance to my work. I've learned that these resources are crucial to me providing support to students. I've learned the value of keeping a resource notebook up to date for access to this information and a resource to help me over the course of my work.
From this module, I have learned the importance of empathetic communication, active listening, and understanding the diverse needs of prospective students during the admissions process.
I intend to apply this knowledge by ensuring that every interaction with prospective students is personalized and thoughtful. I will actively listen to their concerns, ask relevant questions to better understand their needs, and provide clear and accurate information to help them make informed decisions. By doing so, I aim to enhance the overall experience for applicants and contribute to the positive reputation of our institution.
I'm eager to engage with my peers to exchange strategies and tips for further improving our approach to admissions.
Admissions Training is critical, regardless of how long or short someone has been in the field. Things are always changing within the organization as well as regulations which may be mandated by Accrediting bodies, or local, state or federal authorities. Having access to updated training info. and school info. (catalog, policies, etc.) is vital.
Good afternoon, This is my first opportunity to take an admissions course. I feel the reading was very interesting because I was able to learn how important giving students accurate information to enroll.
Ive just learned that the Admissions representative training is required in the state of Florida to ensure that individuals working in this capacity are knowledgeable about relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards. This safeguards the interests of both prospective students and educational institutions.
Additionally, I've made a note on sections suggested for the Resource Notebook:

Statutes and Rules
Information about your Institution:
Institution Catalog
Enrollment Agreement
Marketing Materials
Institutional Policies and Procedures Manuals
Organizational Chart
Accrediting Body Rules and Regulations
Resource Notebooks are super important to attaining and maintaining the necessary knowledge needed to successfully work in admissions!
I have learned that it is important to keep a "Resource Notebook" this should include Enrollment Agreements, Marketing Plans for the month, the Organizational chart for the school's faculty & staff. Also to include the Placement Director who can help students know where they can acquire jobs.

This was a good refresher of the definitions associated with the admissions process, as for the notebook, I feel maintaining it up-to-date it the most important so as to assure that the information we give in admissions/enrollment is accurate to the students.
