ChatGPT and Its Educational Uses --> Impact on Students

Post what you've learned about this topic and how you intend to apply it. Feel free to post questions and comments too.

Use of ChatGPT to create practice questions for additional learning resource is very helpful for instructors.

I see a benefit for students whose primary language is not English. AI can help them learn tricky medical terms, drug names, etc.

CAPPS 148 has given me an understanding of Chat GPT capabilities beyond its reputation as a curiosity. I like the idea of tailoring 1:1 student interface with those who struggle with learning disabilities.

encourage students to use ChatGPT to assist in understanding research articles and simplify longer articles then they can apply what they learned to identify how they could utilize what they learned in actual practice

I have learned that students and faculty can harness the power of ChatGPT to improve teaching and learning. I will implement AI-generated unfolding case studies, encouraging students to analyze evolving patient scenarios, make clinical decisions, and reflect on outcomes, thereby strengthening engagement, critical thinking, and application of knowledge to realistic nursing practice situations. Students need a teacher who is willing to learn about AI and how to use it to better prepare students for real-life challenges.

ChatGPT can be incorporated in many ways in a classroom but should only be used to assist not to take over completely. I want students to be aware of the pros and cons and with that they can use it responsibly and welcome it in the classrooms.

I teach students the appropriate ways to utilize AI in their education so they are still studying efficiently but also not putting themselves at a deficit. I also reinforce the idea that AI is a good starting point, but should not be used to complete a full assignment.

Que tiene muchas más aplicaciones de las que me imaginaba y me animaré a usarlo en mis clases.

As a student myself, I see the benefits to using AI for help, but that's just it, help. As a supplement it can be beneficial, but the ethical use is still a strong barrier to widespread use.

benefits to students and educators. Plagiarism check add on to LMS needed as plagiarism using AI is increasing

I learned that ChatGPT can enhance students’ learning in many ways, such as simplifying lengthy texts, generating creative ideas, summarizing class notes, creating test practice questions, and supporting language learning. These features make it a versatile academic tool that saves time, boosts creativity, strengthens subject knowledge, and builds confidence. By providing personalized summaries, prompts, and feedback, ChatGPT helps students prepare more effectively for exams and assignments while encouraging engagement with course material.

The integration of AI in education offers additional benefits, including customized learning experiences, timely feedback, and reduced teacher workload, allowing educators to dedicate more attention to lesson planning and individual student support. While ChatGPT can empower learners and foster critical thinking, it must be used responsibly. When guided by educators and combined with human instruction, it becomes a powerful supplement that enhances academic performance without replacing essential teacher-student interaction.

AI can help by simplifying lengthy essays and articles, and also assisting in generating creative ideas.

Chat GPT as a tool is so powerful and I see more advantages to it for educators than disadvantages. It is being used widely in industry so that is also an important factor for teachers to get on board with it.

I learned that ChatGPT can be a useful support in education. It can help create materials, explain topics, and give ideas. I plan to use it to make my teaching easier and to support students in learning better.

The technology's use by the public is still in its infancy, and many people's opinions are not fully formed on it yet, or are even misinformed, but I believe it must be embraced in education, but embraced slowly and purposefully.

It is interesting that students are divided on the use of ChatGPT. Both sides make valid arguments. Teachers will do well by acknowledging their recommendations and concerns.

AI should assist, not replace human effort. Use it to improve creativity and productivity. Treat output as a draft to be refined.

ChatGPT can be incorporated into the classroom in many ways such as developing review questions, tutoring assistance etc.

ChatGBT has the power to enrich the educational experience, elevate learning outcomes, and bolster student success.
