Analyzing information to make better decisions, looking past opinions and putting it all together. Helping students with an environment to have them critically think themselves will further their education.
Critical thinking is essential in nursing since students have access to information quickly. The steps that it takes to think critically is something that must be taught with today's students. Technology, while useful, it has caused students to become inpatient and also question their ability to solve problems alone. Critical thinking is a self-directed, self-analytical exercise, but helping students work through the process with the necessary tools, they can synthesize information in order to make good decisions, thus building their knowledge base while in school.

U have learned that the teacher can gauge the level of critical thinking of the students by the responses they give. Using the scientific method can help probe the thinking to a level they need to be. I also learned that philosophical reasoning may be used to expain examples, such as using if, then statements, allowing students to determine what makes sense. Finally, real life examples are important. The more examples provided, the better understanding the students have. Examples broaden the analytical unformation they have, which helps them process the information better. I also learned that over teaching a topic causes the students to filter out what they may think is unnecessary information.
My takeaway is that it is important to give my student many avenues to think from and let them use their judgment to come up with the solution. It is also important to make them understand the value of paying attention to details, checking the timing and flow of information that they are receiving, taking time to articulate their point in clear, concise points.
I am excited to encourage my adult learners to develop critical thinking skills by showing them examples of how critical thinking looks like on the job (as nurses).
Critical thinking is beneficial to learnerss because it enables them to analyze information objectively rather than accepting it at face value
By guiding the students to analyze information, justify their ideas with evidence, consider multiple viewpoints and solve problems independently.
I learned about critical thinking and its importance in learning/
Critical thinking when properly weight upon with all its details. Can be used as a great tool to embetter oneself and others.
Critical thinking is such a complex process and is hard to do with so much information being thrown around. Slowing down and really going through the steps is essential and relaying this to students is so important.
Critical Thinking allows better understanding and encourages effective communication. students evaluate information, make better arguments, and help in decision making exercises.
I had never heard the term syllogism before - I learned something new. I enjoyed this topic as critical thinking is not a skill that most of my students come well-equipped with ... means it is at the forefront of how I approach teaching and learning. Unfortunately, sometimes in today's world, asking questions [to further one's understanding] is not always welcomed.
Critical thinking plays a major role!
I learned that critical thinking is about more than just analyzing information—it’s about asking the right questions, challenging assumptions, and making well-reasoned decisions. It helps us see situations from different perspectives and separate facts from opinions or emotions. Developing this skill is valuable in any field because it leads to better problem-solving and stronger communication. I plan to apply this by taking more time to evaluate information before acting and by encouraging others to think through situations logically instead of reacting on impulse.
I have learn how important is to stimulate students’ critical thinking by asking them probing questions. Likewise, students should cultivate critical thinking by questioning ambiguous situations, rather than accepting them at face value.
Critical thinking is valuable because it empowers the learner to become an independent thinker who can solve problems, make sound decisions, and evaluate information critically in a world filled with complexity and misinformation. It strengthens problem-solving skills, promotes creativity, and fosters lifelong learning.
By helping students use logic it is important to help guide them on how to ask questions to gather the truth.
Critical Thinking allows better understanding and encourages effective communication. It sharpens the decision making and improves self awareness and improves overall self esteem.
