Comment on nichol wadkins's post: Meet the class for the for the time requires creating a welcoming enviroment.

It gave me a lot of insight on how to conduct the first day of my class next week! I hoe with being an online class I can still get a feel for each person's personality and how they learn.

This module gave me some ideas of how to introduce myself and learn the students' names.

building a rapport setting expectations while establishing a positive organized and inclusive classroom culture

Meeting the class for the first time sets the tone for the entire course. I learned that it’s important to create a welcoming, organized, and positive environment right away while clearly explaining expectations, goals, and classroom structure.

First impressions matter, so being prepared, approachable, and confident helps build trust and student engagement from day one.

The importance easing nervousness of students and methods to do so.

This module has informed me the importance of communication, respect, and introduction. Building trust with the class creates a calm environment.

Introducing yourself to students is important, take the time to get to know them. Plan activities that serve as an ice breaker. Learn their names.

Take time to introduce yourself and allow each student to do the same to build a rapport and establish a baseline of experience and knowledge.

It set the tone for the course, helps put nervous students a little more at ease, set sets the road map for the course.

It's important to come up with a plan by reviewing the students work studies a day before class so that when an instructor walks right into class, he will be ready to be giving out all class lab assignments etc. and be ready to give instruction on any test that are coming up.

Using tools like an ice breaker and name cards is a good way to associate with your students and themselves.

I have learned that it is extremely important to have your students prepared and ready for what is to come as well as how the course is taught.

Introducing yourself in a professional, yet fun and light way may ease the students' nervousness during the first week of class.

I introduce myself and talk a little about my background in welding and answer any questions that they may have about our trade.

introducing myself and telling the students a little of my history as an electrician, is going to be the greatest ice breaker to make them feel comfortable. also, I love to explain how I am no better than them, and if I can do it, they can too!

The first impression is important, learning students' names and breaking the ice with a "get to know" everyone is something I will implement into my teaching rubric.

Learning names are so important to make a student feel comfortable and that they matter in my class.
