I learned that I should continue to take classes and continue to develop skills to improve my teaching skills throughout my career because it takes more than just knowledge in the field to be an effective instructor.
There is a holistic approach to teaching that requires proficiency in several areas: the ability to motivate students without becoming too familiar, take charge and lead the class by competency and having presence, and maintain focus within the classroom through motivation and discipline as required.

Model professionalism, motivate, show enthusiasm for the subject
I loved seeing the clips from the professor talking about teaching. My takeaway from him was to be passionate and engaged in the subject matter, which he not only stated, but clearly showed by example.
Learning from past instructors (good and bad) to take elements of their learning styles to create my own. Students want to learn, and the goal of the classroom is education, but you're even teaching things like professionalism.
Reviewing all of the material in this module, I have learned that it is very important to realize that the student comes first, and not the teacher. Also, it is all important that we motivate the students and get them excited about learning, manage our time efficiently, be a good model for them and set the example. I have a great saying that I thought of regarding benefitting the students' work, "Be Clear, Succinct, and Unambiguous" (Breckenridge, 2020).
