<p>The immediate and positive feedback provided on assignments/projects is an important factor in student success.&nbsp; Feedback should be:</p> <ul> <li>Connected to learning objectives as well overall SLOs for the course.&nbsp; Connecting a rubrics to it is an interesting thought and one that I may pursue later.</li> <li>Frequent as applied to assignments, projects, and online responses</li> <li>Positive in tone-negative comments or tones will discourage the student</li> <li>Responses should be automatic or within a 48 hour period if at all possible.</li> <li>Feedback should be provided in a variety of ways such as: <ul> <li>written peer or instructor feedback on assignments, projects, discussions, etc.</li> <li>auditory during synch instruction</li> <li>visual during synch instruction or written</li> </ul> </li> <li>Individualized feedback is essential to making sure that the student understands that the instructor is evaluating or reviewing their work and not someone elses.</li> <li>Specific and detailed-instructors should gather specific or detail examples of the student work.&nbsp; In our case we use measurements when inspecting a students project that they made in class. Comments or questions we have are directed to them specifically regarding the projects and/or assignment.&nbsp; This the same whether it is online or face to face instruction.</li> </ul>
