It's important to disambiguate assessments of skill from assessments of language comprehension – particularly in skill-based training programs. You can accomplish this by asking students to respond to pictures instead of words, as you do. On the other hand, you want make sure that you don't enable students who might need to master English comprehension to successfully perform their jobs.
