<p>Taken for the harvard video presenters there are five factors that will help make you a more effective and clear communicator with your students.</p> <ol> <li>Know the subject</li> <li>Know the student. Take a look at the profile of each student and learn about their background and what motivates them (this must be done on the first day!)&#160;</li> <li>Set the expectation. This is achieved by engaging the students and knowing who can answer some key questions during classroom sessions.&#160;</li> <li>You MUST create an environment where people can take risks. DO NOT humiliate your student. It will come back ten-fold because they're not interested in learning; They're interested in survival. So, be aware of your style because that might intimidate or humiliate people so that they don't want to take risks.</li> <li>Great teachers transcend the message; they're bold and clear and approachable.</li> </ol>
