It so satisfying to be able to meet a student where they are at in their learning style, their life experiences, culture, and life stage. This module stressed the importance of understanding the factors to look at when working with a diverse group. I really appreciated the advice of not letting students turn challenging situations into a gripe session but at the same time, letting the students know you are listening and have heard them. In most environments in the real world the ideal often does not exist, so helping students to pivot in a classroom may be good practice for preparing them to be in the field. This problem-solving skill will help students in their professions and show them they can be problem solvers for the everyday challenges they will come across.
