I find an active learning environment like JiTT more stimulating, this approach allows for intentional learner participation. Students who are reluctant to respond individually will do so in a group setting.  Because JiTT fosters collaborative learning environment learners become eager to learn and express what they have already learned. Again, the pre-planning collaboration gives reluctant leaners the chance to pre-plan and explore the learning objectives without fearing the unknown in a group.
