Internet publicity

We have recently begun a publicity campaign on the internet and we are already seeing results. We are finding the more our name is out there on the internet, the more visits there are to the actual website. Public releases on the internet, combined with effective search engine optimization (SEO), seems to be the answer to increasing lead flow in today's market.

Hi Shelly
Can you share with the rest of us details about your public releases on the internet? Sounds like a great idea. How do you do it? What information do you send? What kinds of results do you get?
Thanks, Susan

Hello Shelly,

Do you do a "pay per click" or have a hosted website to generate leads? We have both and are not too happy with the PPC service. Many of our leads don't take the time to read through our website to gather information necessary to ask intelligent questions. Many times we spend hours on the phone when the prospective student needs to read the catalog.

HI Chris and Shelly
Lots of different opinions about hosted websites, pay per clicks, portals, etc. We would say that it depends- on the size of your school, types of programs, enrollment goals. We have school owners say they get all their leads from their own website. Some have plus and minuses comments about portals. The answer is in trying everything and measure measure measure. Also have highly trained admissions reps who are quick and comfortable using email.
Best wishes, Susan

The internet is a great tool for publicity! When you are able to update your information quickly and potential students have access from a computer, there is less lag time for results. After doing a lot of research, I have found that there are cheap host sites that allow businesses to create decent websites. My advice to anyone who wants to set up a website would be to do their homework before paying too much to have a created for them. It's not as hard as it seems when you have the right tools.

Hi Christie
You're right about internet marketing and the need for every school to have a website. Done right you can get most of your leads from your website. The website needs to have just the right amount of information to motivate the applicant to contact you. And your admissions representatives have to be ready to respond immediately. There are all kinds of Internet and technology opportunities - texting, YouTube, Facebook, click to dial an admissions rep and more. Check out www.contactdm.com for the latest website marketing.
