Martha, Good point. That is why it is important to keep their eyes on where they will work upon graduation. Plan visits to the workplace. Thanks Dr. Susan Schulz
Lisa, The focus on student enrollment is important. This means admitting only qualified students who have a clear understanding of the workplace and job demands. You are correct that there needs to be sufficient faculty and staff to support student success. You might look to alumni to provide the missing time and talent. Alumni love to volunteer their time to schools they love. MaxKnowledge has a course to tell you how. Dr. Susan Schulz
Martha, Community outreach is a daily job. Dr. Susan Schulz
Martha, It is amazing how easy it is to find job openings when a school stays in touch with employers. It does take getting permission from grads to contact their places of work. It takes having a school representative contact all other employers to ask about job openings and training needed. Dr. Susan Schulz
Beatriz, On the job experience is important for all training. Students need organized externships. In that way they perform required skills and get feedback. They can add meaningful experience to their resumes. Dr. Susan Schulz
Martha, That's great. You might want to hold meetings so they can discuss ways to talk about life on the job. Students need to know how skills they learn in class apply to the workplace. Dr. Susan Schulz

Beatriz, We see that a great placement can mean a great school. The better placement rates then the more students will want to enroll. Great placement inspires students to complete and graduate. With great placement you will know where more jobs are. Thanks, susan Dr. Susan Schulz

Viola, We also agree that externships can provide the road to employment and can function as an extended interview. That means that both the student and the externship site have to be prepared and have the same expectations. Students must be highly trained to deal with most expectations at the worksite. The externship requirements have to be clear and measurable. Externship supervisors need a manual to know how to consistently manage and evaluate the process. It's great to participate in community events and visit employers. We feel it is vital that each school ask employers how work-ready their grads are… >>>
