New strategies

Creating a press release kit and press releases about newsworthy events will be a prime focus for this year. The module was loaded with marketing strategies. The school has 100% placement. This fact is probably not marketed as well as it should be.

Stories about student successes is also an idea that has not been developed fully. Testimonials are used on the website as well as biography of the owner/instructor.

Employer satisfaction is high for our program. This also needs to be developed in some of the suggestions in this module.

I am a sole owner/instructor/marketing person. If there are others in this situation, how many hours do you devote to marketing in a week or month? How do you time manage and keep up the student teaching/grading?

Hi Janet
Lots of owners hold multiple positions to keep costs down. In the end you wear yourself down. You might want to consider a great assistant. Then you can do the creative work and an assistant can carry out all your plans. If your placement is 100% that is definitely something to brag about. Be sure your can back up the facts as your licensing board will eventually want to know. Student testimonials are great. Why not create mp3 or videos of their comments and add to your website or email as a follow up. We addressed employers in a previous email. We suggest you stay in touch on a regular basis. What they can tell you can keep your school ahead of your competition. As to how many hours to devote to marketing - suggest you hire one person to do all the marketing and admissions. And be sure that day, evenings, and Saturday mornings are covered. Another idea is to put a plan in place and have an assistant work the plans. Good luck, Susan
