Developing VR lessons requires thoughtful planning, clear learning objectives, appropriate VR hardware and software, engaging content, and effective assessment strategies. I learned that successful VR lessons should focus on meaningful learning experiences rather than simply using technology for its own sake. Educators need to consider accessibility, learner readiness, and how VR activities connect to real-world applications. As a nursing educator, I intend to apply this knowledge by exploring VR simulations that allow students to practice patient assessments, clinical decision-making, and emergency responses in a safe environment. I am interested in learning more about designing realistic scenarios that enhance student engagement and clinical confidence.
The cost to do this prohibitive for sure; the later part of the module was ads for the various platforms; oh, well. I am learning!
Comment on Garrett Lampe's post: I agree with this. I have two monitors but the rest of the computer/software I am lacking.
It is great to learn about all the tools to create lessons. This has been a big help. My classroom has 20 Vive headsets.
I learned that I could create my own VR universe by using partnerships and available software.
To utilize VR I would need the proper tools such as software, a compatible pc, and a headset.
I learned I need a fairly powerful computer to develop VR lessons. I was informed of various programs that make it easier to develop VR courses without extensive coding experience.
I have learned that creating VR scenarios does not require coding knowledge and that resources are available to help design VR apps. I aim to design simulations for patient safety that will help nursing students apply their foundational nursing principles.
Software and hardware equipment. I am not sure that this is the most important part of my program.
would love to see how to build i don't have th background for that. But to actively participate i have the headset and screens need for observation from the rest of the students
Making sure you have the right computer software to launch these courses
I learned I need more memory, a graphics card, and a VR headset if I want to use any of this technology
I use prescribed VR scenarios.
Well, I will not be developing VR scenarios. I do not have the equipment or time.
I need a second monitor and I need to take the time to think of creative ideas to best implement original content in the classroom.
This module supplied a lot of specific information that I didn't have, and which I can use to create original content.
To start a computer/software that can handle the requirements of the program and two monitors.
