Leadership skills is good for students.

It is important to develop leadership skills in students because it is important to career development. Exercises to help develop leadership skills in the classroom include group projects in which one student takes on the role of leader, bringing established or well-known leaders into the class, or having students research leadership organizations. 

Leadership is a very important skill for students to learn, as they are overall preparing for the real world and real workplaces to be a part of very soon.  A vital component of what makes good leadership is the fostering of decision-making.  It is discussed in this module, but I want to bring more to light that an instructor has the ability to nurture students in making decisions, thus providing them the springboard for making good decisions as leaders. 

In my opinion, working together in class, including participation in class discussions, answering questions and participating in group activities, are small examples of the elements of decision making that leads to good leadership.  Enthusiasm, active listening, productive talk and support from instructors bring the environment of leadership development into the classroom, preparation for work-based learning and budding job experience activities, thus bringing the framework of students developing into great leaders...and solid decision makers.

Leadership in career readiness is about more than just teaching students how to become "the boss." It is more about teaching resilience, critical thinking, and problem-solving

Leadership in career readiness is about building real-world habits, not just content knowledge. I learned that leadership can be intentionally taught through choice, accountability, communication, and reflection—not just group work. I plan to apply this by giving students defined roles, chances to lead small tasks, opportunities to reflect on decisions, and responsibility for outcomes so they practice leadership the way it actually shows up in jobs and life.

All students need to be introduced to leadership skills. I think this will help them long-term. 

I learned that effective leadership is built on self-awareness, clear communication, ethical decision-making, and the ability to motivate and support others. I also learned that strong leaders adapt their style to meet the needs of their team and situation. I intend to apply this by leading with empathy, modeling accountability, and encouraging collaboration and growth in both professional and educational settings.

I have learned that leadership is important and that it helps you have critical thinking skills.

every single person can benefit from leadership skills in some way. even if you don't necessarily apply it while in school you at some point in your life or career will want to use your leadership skills to help you. critical thinking can help resolve problems before they even arise. or even by making mistakes they can actually benefit you by knowing what to do differently next time something arises.  

Learning critical thinking and leadership skills are important for the career success of students.

All students should be exposed to leadership skills. They may not need them in the class, but they will need them in life.

 

This is a helpful reminder on the role of leadership in our students lives

Making things happen. I intend to use the 3 questions...

  1. Where are we going?
  2. How are we going  to get there?
  3. What is my role?

This would be a great starting point for the students to start to create a path to their career goal of choice.

I learned that effective leadership is about guiding with vision, supporting others, and setting an example through actions. I plan to apply this by encouraging collaboration, recognizing contributions, and leading with integrity in both professional and personal settings.

Failure increases knowledge and awareness to navigate those difficult times that will occur. Failure can truly serve as an essential component to help shape leaders to be more successful. 

Leadership involves influence, learning from failure, and embracing diverse perspectives. I’ll use group work, advisor feedback, and reflection to help students grow.

Having students in leadership roles allows them to grow confidents in themselves and with the work they are doing as well when working with others or one on ones on a team too

An important quality of leadership requires a skillful approach to influencing and guiding others towards a common goal.

The leader must have skills such as vision, good communication skills, ability to motivate, and adaptability.  Effective leaders demonstrate integrity, self awareness, and the capacity to build trust and inspire their teams. 

Leadership and personal growth opportunities are important for students in CTE.
