We already implement active learning through our drone program as it is part of our CTE programs.  We have our students participate in class discussions, watching videos, practice in drone flying, active assignments using the drones, and a host of other activities.  The goal is to keep our students as engaged as possible, with also the end goal of having them gain real-world experience to equip them with the tools to have careers as drone pilots

Active learning is a great tool for students to retain, utilize, and demonstrate the information they learn.  Its effectiveness is very much proven to be useful and relevant towards the students' careers...and lives.  Thus active learning is the perfect vehicle for CTE, as work-based learning incorporated into the students' classroom learning compliments the understanding of the material with application of what the students learn

We utilize a variety of delivery options for our courses, mainly because of the material we cover, and what is required for our students to obtain their Remote Pilot Certificates administered by the FAA.  All the delivery options described in this module are what we use currently, and it works well for us to apply these course delivery methods in a variety of ways to maximize our effectiveness in delivering our course content.

This school year has been exciting!  Since we've moved into a new space, it also symbolizes the notion of a fresh start.  As every school year marks a new beginning, this activity brings a new dimension to having class for the first time.  Most of our students already know each other, since we are a relatively smaller school in student population.  But this has made the first day of class more intimate, as my co-teacher and I may not have known the students last year that we have now, we quickly built a connection with them.  Reading the material in… >>>

Planning and preparation are key ingredients for any successful activity regarding students and the classroom activities and goals/objectives.  We are currently in the midst of a major move from one location to our local airport for our school, RIGHT AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SCHOOL YEAR.  So while this provides a major challenge, students, parents, administration and staff have pulled together for what is shaping up to be an exciting first year in our new space.  It is truly a community effort, and we believe great things are ahead of us.  Planning and preparation have carried us through thus far,… >>>

Learning how to develop professionally, and personally, as an instructor has helped me manage classrooms better.  Now, with being in a school district full time, I also have learned how to deliver quality instruction to a classroom full of students for the school year.  There are many techniques, methods and habits to utilize effective and quality instruction, and the personal skills in building a rapport with the students that makes the difference in their learning helps them with retention of the material and gain better understanding of what they are learning  

Having documentation such as support materials, notes and assessments can help instructors deliver quality results in student learning.  Teaching is dynamic, and so are the elements such as the ones described in this course.  Lesson plans, objectives and standards, lecture notes, assessments, technology and other support material should be used in an evolving manner, as the population of students change with each class of students, and over time during several years.  But it leads to an interesting, creative career, one that can fulfill an instructor personally and professionally

Learning objectives and standards help to make things clear in the classroom, for the students especially, and for the instructor as well.  They help establish better communication between the instructor and the students, and also help to develop a level of understanding between instructor and students so that everyone is clear on what is to be expected from the students.  Clear and concise objectives that are descriptive and thorough make for an easier, more productive classroom experience for everyone.  Thus allowing for maximum output in achieving the instructor's goals, and in terms of CTE hopefully helping the students earn their… >>>

Lesson plans are essential in classroom management, course structure, class preparation and being organized.  A teacher that becomes well versed is one who can feel for the population of students and their needs, along with having the ability to be flexible in case of time in the classroom being not as expected in actual teaching of the lesson.  Being able to anticipate any changes, be they small or noticeable, can be best done with a framework, and lesson plans help to provide that framework.

Lesson planning is all about knowing who your students are.  Over time, as you create your plans and progress with your curriculum, you also have the chance to know your students more, to the point where you know their learning styles, their moods, their approaches to the material, and moreover their respective personalities.
