I am being proactive and preparing with needed documents for students before i interview them
Alisaundra,
Excellent! Proactive means you care and you are being prepared for the interview.

Our school operates with various committees. Almost everyone sits on a committee. I've found reading the meeting minutes from the committees very helpful with learning what's new and what's being proposed.
I agree - current students are an excellent resource for keeping up-to-date!
Rita,
When the entire school participates in the culture, the school becomes alive. We all have an opportunity to participate in the education of our students through various avenues.

Wunderlist is an amazing application! Does anyone else use it to keep up to date?
Jonathan Morris
Jonathan,
I was not aware of Wunderlist. Thank you for bringing it to the forum and I look forward to hearing others' experiences with the application.

To be able to discuss the Institution to the prospect student the best way is for one to actually feel the educational environment. Student’s feedback, classroom participation, seeing the teacher-student interaction, with all that fact gathering we could easily transfer all the great benefits the institution has to offer!
Sitting in on classes is great and fun too. It also shows my students that I'm involved and do care about what they are learning and trying to receive out of the classes.
Viviana,
You are exactly right! You bring such a comfort level when you have that institutional knowledge and product knowledge. Conversations are so much easier.
Patty Aronoff
Danielle,
I absolutely love sitting in our classes. I always learn something new and it's exciting to be part of the student experience.

By visiting the school websites, using the company intranet, and keeping up with my emails along with asking questions of my superiors I will attempt to add changes to my information on a weekly basis or as they are given to me.
Melissa,
That is an excellent plan! We need to always be proactive in sharpening our knowledge of our school, our programs, and the regulations.
Patty Aronoff
I really like the idea of looking at news papers, publications and google to help me keep up to date with employment trends.
MARTHA,
The more we know about a career field the better we can provide an overview for our students. Be sure to use reliable sources when doing your research.

This is a great idea and as the admissions rep I never considered taking a few minutes to sit in on the classes. I will be making that effort.
I have sat in classes and it does help.
Phillis,
I guarantee it is so much fun. You get a truer picture of what actually happens in the classroom and you go away with learning something new.
Patty Aronoff
Danielle,
We should do it often in the fact that there's always something new to learn. If we sit in on a class it as a new admissions rep, after we have been become more experience, we need that refresher.
Patty Aronoff
I have always enjoyed sitting in a class to hear the delivery of the information. It helps to explain what the subject matter is about.
I keep a shortcut on my desk to connect to my institution's main page. Once a week I review catalogs and programs. We have a weekly staff meeting in our institution to discuss changes in programs , requirements , student services , resources, etc.
