Getting Started

Getting started was a great introduction of this online course. It opened the course with some vital information.

Please elaborate on your response by enlightening us about how you benefitted from the Introduction.

It's been a while for me now. But I do recall that all the training meant virtually nothing when I actually began to teach! I really had to learn by doing. Maybe that's just my learning style.

We can only prepare to teach for so long before we have to jump in with both feet first! :-)

I agree, it is like riding a bike or learing how to hit a curveball. We can get some tips on how to approach it, but we are eventually going to have to take a plunge and try to do it ourselves.

I have found that the hardest part is getting the students to login regularly since the school has a set format for course structure and participation requirements. They often do the minimum and have two weeks to do it in so there is a lack of connection between posts and replies.

Has anyone found any good suggestions for dealing with this?
