Accessibility and Positive Assertions of Success

I think it's important that students, from the very outset, understand that success in the course will be achieved by acquiring as much information as possible and, to that end, the instructor will be available to reinforce that ideal and be "quickly" reachable to answer questions, offer explanations and encouragement.

First and foremost is encouraging students to read carefully and not rush to finish. In addition, students should be told to write carefully to their audience. They should understand who their target audience is or are.
Also, students should be encouraged to ask questions about subject matter. There is no dumb questions per se but rather a dumb asnwer.

Edward,

You are right! The design of the course does provide that.

Emmanuel,
I like that! You are right, online ed can teach them how to ask good questions.
