Learning to communicate "inter" rather than "cross" help validated differences and not ignore or devalue them  Becareful as an instructor, not to deflate or undervalue identity, this can lead to lack of confidence, underachievement and even failure.

Inclusive classrooms are those in which instructors and students work together to create and sustain an environment in which everyone feels safe, supported, and encouraged to express his/her views and concerns.

Race is a social construct and can be used to minimize the full potential of every student by focusing on the externals.  As instructors, we have note that they have different races/cultures, understand how they may have experienced that,  and then strive to be inclusive to them

Race is a social construct.  Culture refers to the differences in people's backgrounds.  Try to be as inclusive as possible.

It is important to treat students with the same level of respect and understand there may be differences in their experiences based on race or culture.

I learned the importance of why intercultural communication is important for instuctors and how if used correctly it will not eliminate any students.

It can be challenging to teach the learner from another country or even state, so it's up to us as educatoers to adapt our teaching methods to reach these particular students

This brought home the concept to know your student culture in order to present your coarse material effectively. They will better understand the concepts if you are coming from their point of learning.

You must get to know the student culture in order to present material so the student  can understand the information you are trying to get across to the students, they must see it in their lives.

This module emphasized theneed for intercultural communication vs crosscultural communication, which again, relies on getting to know our students individually and respecting their differences and analyzing and adapting our teaching and communication methods to ensure that they are as inclusive as possible.

I like to use student stories and experiences in the learning journey

It's best to be inclusive and consider the culture of each student.

I have worked in many contexts, and all have been multicultural experiences. Much of my work was in a racially homogenous area, but even there, the cultural differences between socioeconomic strata were clearly established. Even with a dress code to create a sense of similarity, the norms between classes were apparent. And familial expectations varied based on experiences and survival needs. In my international work, the racial diversity was apparent, and the freedom to individualize instruction between students was tremendous. It's all about recognizing the value of the individuals within the learning communities and emphasizing a sense of commeraderie that allows learning to become a shared endeavor.

I am aware that there are many cultures that exist in our society. Individuals from different backgrounds may have different values, norms, religions, languages, and so some students may need more time to understand or respond to instructions. As a teacher we need to understand to treat each student with bias.

This lesson will be referred to often. Thank you.

Race is a social construct. Culture is real life experience of people, such as language and heritage.

As instructors we must communicate effectively, use language that is inclusive to all cultutures as it impacts students' learning outcomr.

we need to embrace all cultures in Publice education

There are other ways to celebrate other peoples cultures besides a potluck.

Current events make this portion of the module extremely important.  Recognizing social culture as differences in peoples’ preferences, characteristics and habits is very important in classrooms. Awareness of race differences should be done very carefully since this term minimizes the full potential of students. This is just focusing on external characteristics that has nothing to do with learning process. Creating respectful and inclusive environment should be main goal for instructors. This includes not just how the instructor relate to students but also how the students relate to each other. Intercultural communications are our reality and should be clearly understood by instructors and students.
