Teachers and students also undergo great amount of stress. By providing trainings such as this course and resources available, such as the The American Institute of Stress provide numerous ways to handle stress.

A lot of students express being anxious about their externships and looking like they do not know anything. I tell them they are there to learn and to ask lots of questions. I like what the course said about seeing things as growth opportunities instead of threats or anxiety causing situations.

There are a number of regularly scheduled events that might help with stress reduction at my place of work, such as the chiropractic adjustment provided at no charge at the campuses every month and weekly volunteering opportunities (which would be a good way to go out and do something to help mitigate stress induced anxiety).

How to be  mindful, and exercises to decrease stress

How to appropriately deal with stress and fatigue in the workplace!

It is essential that we support one another in our everyday lives and if a student or instructor is experiencing stress, depression or anxiety or a combination we need to provide resources to assist them.

I have learned about the broader impacts of stress on both physical and mental health, including its contribution to conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and anxiety disorders. The module emphasized the importance of recognizing early signs of stress and implementing strategies to manage it effectively, such as regular physical activity, maintaining a balanced diet, and seeking social support. I intend to apply this knowledge by being more proactive in identifying stressors and using the recommended techniques to mitigate their impact, thereby improving my overall well-being and resilience.

There are many resources available on how to reduce stress and anxiety for teachers and how teachers can help reduce stress for their students. Some of the resources include WWW.nimh.nih.gov/findhelp and the International Stress Management Association.

Avoiding excess caffeine can help with stress reduction-

I learned some new methods for dealing with stress, anxiety, or both. I will implement many into my life including; keeping a journal, getting regular sleep, avoiding excess caffeine, and reaching out to family and friends.

Everyone deals with stress in different ways.  There is no right or wrong way to decrease your stress.  It can vary from person to person and from one situation to the next.  It's best to have multiple techniques in your bag in case one is not effective for a given scenario.

Mental healthiness comes from dealing with stress in positive ways and there are many techniques for coping with stress to make you a better teacher.

Stress and anxiety are closely related yet are caused by different factors in life.

Stress generally is in response to an external cause and goes away once the situation is resolved. Anxiety generally is in response to an internal cause and is your reaction to stress that does not quickly go away.
