Stress generally is in response to an external cause and goes away once the situation is resolved. Anxiety generally is in response to an internal cause and is your reaction to stress that does not quickly go away.

MIndfulness is simply paying attention and focusing on the present moment.

In general, active coping methods are more effective that avoidant coping strategies when dealing with stress. You must have a many strategies to deal with stress as there is no single answer.

Stress can come in a variety of forms both internally and externally. Some stress is healthy but longterm stressors can cause many health problems such as cardiovascular disease (heart disease, high blood pressure, heart attacks, and strokes). Getting plenty of rest, eating a healthy diet, exercising, and finding an outlet will help manage stress.

I will utilize coaching as an opportunity to foster a positive work culture to cultivate greater job satisfaction and motivation.

As the course suggested if you make it like a blog/discusion board specifically for the course, and you are the administrator (be able to set limits/monitor content) it would reach the millenial student, but not be so difficult that the more seasoned learner is afraid to participate

This was a very helpful course. Using interactive learning will help reach all types of learners. We have recently got smartboards in our classroom so this will be much easier now. I got some great ideas and can't wait to implement them into my courses!

I totally agree. In reality you will know more than you realize...it may just be a temporary lapse in recollection. Students can relate to you more if you are honest. Always tell them you will find out or you can incorporate those instances into group learning or discussion in your class. This puts the students at ease because they won't feel like they are the only ones who "don't know" the answers.

It is also very important when "leading" them that we do not push our own views as to what "we" think is best for them. Part of being compliant is being a good listener. In order to properly "lead" we need to be attentive, observant and HONEST!

I agree this course was very informative. It gave me new ideas for assessing the retention level of my students with the CAT's. I am excited to implement this in my courses and see how it will open up the discussion in class, especially for those students that are usually uninvolved for fear of not giving the right answer.
