This module has helped me better understand the importance of students feeling welcomed and understood by the staff when trying to continue their education. Only they know how difficult their journey has been. Empathy plays a very important role and we should practice it.

This module helped me better understand the importance of planning, goal setting, time management, and effective online communication for student success. I learned that students are more motivated when they can connect course content to their personal, educational, and career goals, and that setting measurable goals with achievable steps can improve both motivation and confidence.

I also learned the value of netiquette, respectful communication, and strong time-management habits in the online learning environment. Effective planning, avoiding procrastination, and actively participating in course activities can significantly improve student success.

This module helped me better understand how communication tools, technology skills, and online learning spaces work together to create an engaging online learning environment. I learned the importance of using both asynchronous tools, such as email, discussion boards, blogs, and wikis, as well as synchronous tools, such as web conferencing and chats, to promote communication, collaboration, and student engagement. 

I also learned that instructors should clearly communicate technology expectations, provide support resources, and create a student-centered online learning space that encourages participation and community building.
