For some students they are the only one in their family to go to college. As instructors, we need to make them feel important and let them know that we are here for them when they need us.

Being Visible

Always being available for your students is very important. Letting them know that you have an open door policy at all times will make them more comfortable.

How to stay positive with negative students?

We have 2 out of 3 that are negative how do we keep them positive with out feeling pulled into the negative or losing the third student to joining them.

Peer Interaction

Promoting interaction with peers through individual group activities is a great icebreaker.

Day 1

Being prepared for students with setting all expectations from day 1 will set the tone for the class.

Reputation

All students should feel like they are in comfortable surroundings to assist them with fitting in. The credibility and the reputation of your facility will speak for itself at times, but do not forget to promote it.

It is up to us to provide quality education and service to our students. First impressions make all the difference.
