Why is it that transfer credits can not be accepted by all schools?

Helping your school grow

As an Admission Rep you are here to help people in achieving their goals!

Disclosing all the information

As an Admission Rep we must make sure Disclose all the information and documents that portent to the student, which could affect their financial future.

What it means to be an Admission Represntative!

I feel that we must be understand the needs of our students and direct them into right career field of study that will open new doors for our students, that without a degree wouldn’t not be able to find a career that them and their family could be proud of. These are people’s lives we are dealing with and if we are misleading students down the wrong path it looks really bad on us as admission Representative for not using qualifying questions to get the information to determine if the program or school is right for the student. How do you feel about this Statement?

Diploma

One thing I didn't see discussed is the diploma mills and GED's for high schools also. If we don't recognize a local high school for their diploma or GED chances are it was obtained on line, especially if it is from an out of town school.

Job Placement

As an admissions rep, I have a strong background in corporate recruiting before I entered higher education. I know how important it is to fully explain to potential students about felonies and back ground checks and how they may hurt their outlook in their choosen field.

Qualified Students

As an admissions rep, I do see the need to add ESL to our campus. We have seen a need from potential students in this area and questions regarding ESL. Unfortunately we do not have ESL as of right now.

Students

What is the best way to handle the objection. "I don't know what I want to do as my career, I ahve thought about it an nothing stands out"?

Background Checks and Healthcare???

I work for an organization which provides nursing education and other healthcare related programs. Does anyone know what the recommendations or best practices are regarding background checks for those looking to enter nursing, in regards to how far the inquiry should go (i.e. 7 years, 10 years, indefinitely)?

Enrollment

In order for a prospect to make an informed decision, they should have been provided with every aspect of the enrollment process, being an active student and what to expect upon graduation.

Default

Being in this business for close to 10 years now, I have seen an enormous surge in students attempting to enroll in school that have student loans in default. Let alone, having attended several schools and not complete their program of study. More needs to be done in advance to prevent students from getting in default. It would benefit them to have more knowledge about the options they have in managing their student loans.

Diploma Mills

It is so unfortunate how many people are out there thinking and feeling they have made a great decision to get their HS Diploma. Yet there are so many diploma mills out there now of days, especially with the ongoing advancements of technology, that are taking advantage of so many people trying to get a step further in life.

Qualified on Paper, Inappropriate in person

Have you (other admissions agents) ever experience situations where a person meets the basic enrollment qualifications on paper, however, you can see that they are unprofessional and most likely will not be a good fit for the program of interest? How do you handle your own prejudices in cases like the one above?

Diploma Mill Victims

How often do you come across a students that have feel victim to diploma mills ?

State Licensure

Why is it imporant for Admissions to discuss state required background checks ?

Training is essential regardless of strong sales background

Sometimes people may not fee that it is important to continue training if they feel that they have a strong background in sales, but regularly training is essential to successful completion of every interview and enrollment process.

Good Representation of your school

What do you feel would be the best way of representing your school?

Not taking the role of an Admissions Rep lightly!

I can see so far that it is of the utmost importance to become as thorough as possibly regarding training in the role as an admissions Representative. It is so much deeper than just enrolling someone.
