Breaking the bad news about Financial Aid to the Student

I know sometimes when a student comes in, they may be expecting financial aid to cover the full cost of their tuition, but this does not always happen. Common Mistakes

Financial Aid

We as reps do provide an overview of the financial resources available, it is not our job to walk the student through the financial aid process. Our Financial Aid staff will assist in facilitating that.

Compliance

We as Admissions Reps always need to be upfront and honest with potential students. There are laws and regulations regarding advertising higher education. Some of the requirements include not over selling the income potential. However, you can say view the bureau of labor statistics.

Compliance

The section on Compliance was very helpful. It was valuable to understand that once a month, i should review the Ohio Regulatory Website for updates

As an Admission Rep you are here to help people in achieving their goals!

Disclosing all the information

As an Admission Rep we must make sure Disclose all the information and documents that portent to the student, which could affect their financial future.

What it means to be an Admission Represntative!

I feel that we must be understand the needs of our students and direct them into right career field of study that will open new doors for our students, that without a degree wouldn’t not be able to find a career that them and their family could be proud of. These are people’s lives we are dealing with and if we are misleading students down the wrong path it looks really bad on us as admission Representative for not using qualifying questions to get the information to determine if the program or school is right for the student. How do you feel about this Statement?

Diploma

One thing I didn't see discussed is the diploma mills and GED's for high schools also. If we don't recognize a local high school for their diploma or GED chances are it was obtained on line, especially if it is from an out of town school.
