Recruitment

Admissions reps should always disclose as much information as wpossible so that the student will have everything that they want to enroll. They also won't be able to say that they didn't get certain questions anwsered.

Benefits of Accrediation

I believe going to a school that has accreditdation gives the potential student alot more ability to transfer to another school if they needed to.

Appliance And Integrity

I feel that as a represenative of any school any and all information that is available should be diclosed to the incoming student.

Catalog and enrollment agreement

I was wondering what everyone did to try to help explain the more confusing points/or technical terms that may come up in the catalog or enrollment agreement. Are there tricks you use to help students understand the importance of these documents so they dont just push them aside?

Accreditation- "Transfer Students"

Why is accreditation so important to students who want to transfer to a new institution? What trends have you noticed on your current college or university campus? How do the two correlate ?

Diploma Mills

Prospective students should take the time to throughly research schools before actively enrolling. Some schools sound too good to be true--and in fact they are. Diploma Mills are misleading and a waste of time!

Financial Aid

It is misrepresentation for a representative to give false information about financial aid. They should not guarantee that the PS will get loans, grants, and scholarships. However they should make them aware that they MAY be able to apply to see if they would qualify in order to receive assistance. Make them aware of options!

Expectations and Regulations

It is important that school representatives let the prospective student know if they will be eligible to enroll into a certain area of study before they make their final decision to enroll into a specifc school. If not, this would be misleading to the student.

Compliance

It is crucial that school representatives give accurate information. If they don't know the answer to a question they should let the PS know that they do not know and let them know they will either get back with them or refer them to someone who can accurately answer their question(s).

Misrepresentation regulations

After reading the Nature of the Education Program areas, I am reminded of these guidelines which I must be cognigsant of when speaking with potential students. This adherence will will help me in making sure I do not make any misrepresentations regarding our school.

Diploma Mills

It is very important for individuals to do their research so they are not a victium of a diploma mill. In same cases, companies will charge their customers a fee and provide them with a "diploma". These type of diplomas are not accepted.

Default

Students need to be educated about their student loans. Not only will this help the student in the future but also the school because if too many students have their loan in default, they could lose their financial aid rights.

Recruitment

When recruiting, the representatives need to be honest and upfront with the potentional students. If they do not know an answer to their questions, they should not guess.

Regulation

Post Secondary schools need to be sure to follow regulation. This will allow them to maybe qualify for finance aid and become accreditted.

Integrity

Schools should not be able to discuss any information about another institution when speaking for prospective students.

Default Rate

There should be an intense learning session for student on their student loans. Many student do not know about the option they have on their loans if they are not able to make payments or cannot afford their loan amount.

Interesting

Well this is certainly an interesting conversation to begin after reading through this first section of my renewal. Accreditation is so important for a school to have when it comes to having your students and prospective students have confidence in the school they will be attending. What I found to be noticeably imperative for an Admissions Representative to know is that it is okay to say that you do not know the answer to a question. Many prospective students have been shopping for a school for a while and have talked to many of us trying to find the right fit. What is interesting is that they expect us to know the answers sometimes very suddenly, others do not. And you have to be firm when you do not know the answer. Do not let a student pressure you into giving an answer they want to hear, rather than the realistic truthful answer.

Disclosure

I believe disclose any stats on the school and not only best for the student, but the school as well. It gives a clear picture on where the school is and helps the school know if any improvements need to be made.
