topic is too difficult for the student

when you teach certain subject and is difficult for the students to understand certain procedures should be done by the instructor. 1- try to explain the subject at least 3 different ways. 2- Use the examples during the explanation related to the every day life expeciences of the student. 3- Some exercise as a group to be sure all the students are able to see how the others students are able to use the rational to understand the subject.

preparing yourself for class room

The use of technology in adaptive learning

The use of technology in adaptive learning is important in that the student can complete the program at their own speed and any time of the day or night that their schedule allows.

Objectives

Letting the students know what you will be doing and how it will apply to what they are learning is the first thing that I go over

Class subject

Time management is always a priority. Being left with time and nothing to do makes the students want to leave. I like to circle back if time allows and re-visit the material we covered that day.

Importance of Lecture Notes

Over the years, I have taken it upon myself to create my very own lecture notes based on each chapter covered in the textbook. I then proceed to hand out copies of these notes to students as they arrive to class. What I have noticed is that if students see how much an instructor is willing to go for their education, they will approach the course with the same level of responsibility and attention to detail. The result is higher grades on exams and more interaction during class participation.

Importance of Clear Objectives within Syllabus

As discussed within this module, it is imperative that instructors clearly state the goals and objectives on the first day of class. Usually when I meet students, I take time to read through the syllabus so that I can briefly touch upon the objectives as laid out by the department. This ensures that faculty are indeed following policies and that students can be assessed and retention measured with the use of exams and lab reports.

Lesson Plans Not Frequently Considered at College Level

I personally do not find myself spending time writing detailed lesson plans for the semester/quarter. Frankly, I find that this process can be easily skipped if the instructor is organized by nature, creates outlines for his students, and has memorized how each lecture should be run through years of experience.

The Importance of Icebreaker Activities

At the institution where I teach, it is required and expected of instructors to carry out icebreakers on the first day of class. These activities allow for students to open up about themselves, allow them to get settled into the class, and most importantly get familiar with the person teaching them. One particular assignment that I find useful in English Composition is to assign a short essay that describes the person's name, hobbies, family life, goals, and program of study. Not only do I get a chance to grade on proper essay format, but it gives me a chance to learn something extra from each of my students.

How To Create Lesson Plans That Cater To All Learning Levels

When teaching, sometimes it is difficult to create lesson plans that are challenging and engaging enough for the students that excel in your class but at the same time not too advanced for those that are slower learners. Everyone learns differently... so a teacher must utilize all styles of learning so that his/her students can be successful.

Lesson plans help the teachers to go through each step. Lesson plans must contain all lesson and activities and keep you on track just in case you aren't able to finish your lesson plan in one class sitting you know exactly where to start for the next time you meet with that class again

Ask General Questions:

Being in the IT field I usually ask 1. How many years have they been in the field? 2. Do they like the field? 3. What would they like to obtain with the class? General Questions but it helps me to get to know each student as an individual.
