Compliance issues

As a PD this course has opened my eyes to the things I need to understand when my staff or Ireceive inquiries into our RT program. We get calls asking for salaries, job opportunities, etc. I usually send prospective students to the Addmission department. if they specifically want information related to RT I give them the link for the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) website. they have a section related to prospective students in the profession. In that site they site the beureau of labor statistics on both employment outlook and expected salary information, amount other information. We even show them the video "life and breath" .

this course has taught me more about the other areas involved in brining in future student, financial aid, and the fact that admissions people need to be trained and certified. I can better lead my staff. Thanks

Terry

Hi Terrance,

Sounds like a good idea. I'm so glad that you found the course helpful. Best of luck in your work!

I also thought the class was helpful! The students that come from admissions are tend to only see the fruit of the course not the work now we can merge both thank you maxknowledge!!

I agree because I have had the same experiences as an interim program director. Since I direct all admissions related questions to the admissions department, I have made it a habit to periodically arange meetings with members of the admissions department in order to ensure that all admissions personnel are providing the same admissions related information concerning my program.

Expectations with regards to salary, always need a third party proof source. I have made the expectation as an Admissions Director to my representatives to have this information available for prospective students to review and have the website available so that they can confirm themselves. We use the Bureau of labor statistics as our proof source.

I agree that the course was helpful. I am not in admissions and I found it helpful to understand what they do a little bit more. It appears that we are departmentalized and do not see what each department has to offer the students. It opened my eyes a bit more.

This was an awesome course with some very important information in which I feel will be beneficial to my teaching career.
