Presenting Informative Lectures And Showing Different Application Techniques

Teaching can be an art for everyone especially if its done in an efficient and effective way. Informative lectures serves as real source of knowledge for students. Informative lectures shows how updated an instructor can be and how he can relate each info to the application process. With the existence of modern technology., different application techniques should be used to add diversity to the whole process and to increase the interest of students in learning the subject matter. From there, you can assess the learning strategies that can be used for each type of learner. Presenting informative lectures requires  hardwork and persistent research on the subject matter being taught and expertise can be seen by using different application techniques.

Greetings Zenaida!

Thanks for sharing!  In your post you stated, "With the existence of modern technology., different application techniques should be used to add diversity to the whole process and to increase the interest of students in learning the subject matter. From there, you can assess the learning strategies that can be used for each type of learner."  As an online instructor assessing the learning styles of students is a bit difficult.  Can you please share some strategies?

Agian, thanks!

Hi Zenaida,

Informative lectures take an extraordinary amount of time and dedication. The preparation alone is enormous if you are really doing the topic/lecture justice. It is important to be creative and presentation is key; using a variety of instructional methods is important and keeps the student engaged. It also helps to create an environment where you can adapt the teaching strategies with the individual student's learning styles.

I agree with you Zenaida.  With all the preparation, it is important to make it creative and interesting.  It is not a good feeling to know that all the work you put into the lecture is not useful if the students do not respond positively in learning.

Totally agree!

Being creative with the class objectives is key.  Bringing the students in to help shape the course objects works for me.  Students look forward to the next chapter and  they brainstorm how they can recreate the system with paly-dough, diagrams, flashcards, or case study's.
