Empathy and compassion go a long way and with students its important to lead with these qualities. Set clear expectations, create a relationship with each student and relate to them in a way that acknowledges we are all human.
Effective student behavior management relies on clear boundaries, proactive communication, and objective empathy. Applying these principles starts with setting explicit expectations early in the syllabus to prevent misunderstandings and maintain consistency.
