One of the most important parts of the job is practicing what you preach. People emulate what you do more than what you say. Another important part of the job is being attentive to the students and checking in, showing you care and fostering a relationship with them. When students feel seen, cared for and like they belong they will work harder and communicate more which in turn with assure they make it to graduation.
