I learned that sometimes you can't find out a reason why a student is leaving school. This module mentioned that most times in an exit interview, the student will give the easiest answer to be over with the process. I completely understand that as the reasons may be extremely stressful and/or embarrassing.
I think I will have to show my students that I am there for them and their success. I want them to feel they can come to me about anything that is impacting their ability to learn or come to class.
