I've learned that the punishment for an offender should match the frequency and severity of the offence, regardless of the sex of the offender.  The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (“OCR”) has stated that when schools do not hold perpetrators accountable through punishment or when the sanctions imposed are not commensurate with the seriousness of the act, the school is at risk for continuing to violate Title IX by allowing a hostile environment to continue. I've learned the definitions of offences such as rape. date assault, domestic violence, sexual assault, and others.

From this module, I learned that prevention and education are key to creating a safe and respectful campus environment. Understanding the importance of awareness programs, bystander intervention, and clear communication about policies helps reduce incidents of sexual and gender-based misconduct. I intend to apply this by actively promoting educational resources, encouraging open discussions, and supporting initiatives that foster safety and respect within our community.
