<p>Team work is the basis for patient safety and high performance teams. The DOD and DEPT of Health address it by developing the program- TEAMSTEPPS ( Team Strategies to enhance performance and patient safety). IS has been adopted by the American Hospital Association and some medical schools to increase team performance during critical patient care such as cardiac arrest and transfers/ hand off.&#160; It helps with standard communication ie. SBAR, to minimize miscommunication.&#160; I also think that communication has an emotional component which has been label " psychological Safety" people must feel safe to speak truth to power. I think all of this incorporated into a culture creates a great learning environment.&#160;</p>
