Active participation from students, SWOT, four-corners, entrance and exit cards, talk tickets, dry-erase boards and hypothetical real-world scenarios, these are all useful tools to allow students to express their opinions and conclusions.  Those opinions and conclusions are essential for the students to come up with results developing their critical thinking skills, communication skills, and listening balanced with speaking to express those opinions and conclusions in a manner that is constructive, productive and insightful.

In our class we allow for open discussion, and as the material is pretty much straight-forward, we use an adequate amount of hands-on activities to illustrate what the students have learned.  Hands-on activities in flying drones help the students to further understand the material we teach.  Since we teach them what's necessary to pass the Part 107 Remote Pilot exam, nothing is better than real-world situations in practicing the flying.  Our film project we have assigned is our version of the hypothetical real-world scenario.  In class discussion and reviews, we use thinking opportunities and active participation for the students to grasp the material and understand the concepts we convey.  We also utilize an abundant amount of quizzes for formative assessments, and our students have done fairly decent in their summative assessments.
