I learned that soft skills, a.k.a. emotional intelligence or interpersonal skills have grown even more important for educators in the 2020s. Students now want teachers to be flexible, empathetic, and have excellent communication skills in addition to technical expertise. I've discovered that teaching is now more than just delivering knowledge; it's also about fostering an environment where students feel free to learn, work together, and express themselves. Teachers can better engage various learners and meet their particular needs if they demonstrate patience, active listening, and cultural awareness. Soft skills like adaptability, conflict resolution, and emotional control are crucial in the 2020s as classrooms use technology more and more and society evolves quickly. By being more deliberate in creating an inviting classroom environment, employing active listening to better understand students' problems, and modifying my teaching approaches when necessary, I hope to put this understanding into practice. I want to encourage students to thrive academically and build their own interpersonal skills for future employment by setting an example of these soft skills.
