I learned that student learning assessment is an essential part of effective teaching because it helps instructors evaluate whether students are achieving course objectives and identify areas for improvement. Assessment should include various methods, such as quizzes, discussions, skills demonstrations, and performance evaluations, to measure both knowledge and practical application. Effective assessment provides meaningful feedback that supports student growth and improves learning outcomes. I intend to use both formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust my teaching strategies. In nursing education, I will apply assessment methods that promote clinical reasoning, confidence, and safe patient care practices.
