I learned the importance of setting goals for yourself while teaching and that they're different ways of getting from one point to another.
The key is to get to your destination the quickest, safest, and most direct way. That is what a goal is like. When writing course goals use the road map example to make them clear and direct.

It helps them understand expectations and outcomes in a clear way and also by creating a checklist it helps throughout the teaching course to avoid forgetting important and critical items during the day and throughout the course.
