As a new instructor, what has stood out to me in this module are the concepts of the three major areas of competence: technical, professional and personal. The way each are described within the module gives a great visual of what a competent instructor looks like. I hope to be able to demonstrate my technical abilities by sharing my knowledge and expertise on the subjects, my professional abilities by being able to deliver content and assess student learning and my personal competence by showing my students that I am human too and am able to bring my personality to the classroom as well as give myself grace if something does not go as planned.
