online orientation

Do you feel that the same topics can be covered effectively in an online presentation?

In general, yes! Online students are both easier and more difficult. They typically interact more than in a classroom. However, they are also harder in respect to seeking them out and having an 'eyeball-to-eyeball' conversation. If they choose to stop interacting, they are much more difficult to regain.

So in some ways, it is even more important to build those relationships with multiple people during orientation.

Yes I do! As far as the institutional credibility goes and making the student sure of this I believe that we can effectively cover all of these areas with an online presentation.

I think anything is possible with online orientation, but it does take more planning and it's important to ensure there are ways to establish relationships with the students. It's also important to meet the needs of different learning styles by including interactive elements, pictures, videos, etc.
