Checking in.
Each student advisor has a group of students they deal with. My suggestion would be to have a guide line number IE. 80% if any of the 4 scored grades drop below that score they should have to see their respective advisor for a "check in " meeting. Find out whats going on, Are they having trouble outside of school? with a particular class Etc.
This would show that we care, catch early retention concerns and hope to make them have better overall class scores.
We offer tuturing an dsometimes that does not help. The students are in to much of a hurry to leave when class is over. To have the student report to a Rep to see what problems they are having is a good idea. Sometimes the instructors don't have time to give alot of special attention to one student.
good idea but maybe for those rushed students advisors should becoming to them.
