Is there a suggested ratio of security to student population?
I will be interested to see others' responses as I could not find specific guidance when searching popular campus safety websites. However, I think another key component to security is the training and preparation of the staff, in addition to the ratio of staff to students. Other factors would include hours of operation, whether or not there is student housing on campus, and if students are typically full-time or part-time (number of hours on campus).
We have no security guards on our campus. We do have I'd activated doors that only open with an official I'd card for staff, faculty, and students. I also would be curious to know the rules.
