Professionalism

Being seen as an expert in your field is the name of the game. For recruiting and enrollment purposes this is excellent. People would rather enroll in a school that has been around for a while and has some great outcomes to par. They too want to be a great outcome, so a professional school would be a perfect match for the potential student.

Well said Nancy. It's vital to develop a school image or brand. Doing everything to demonstrate the school is professional, serious, and gets results (grads who are happy and well placed) impacts on recruitment and enrollment. It's important for the school to structure itself to be seen as "the" resource for exceptional training.

Any ideas about how to accomplish this other than great word of mouth?

Hi Reinaldo

You might want to focus on all the ways you can use the "word of mouth" concept. Who can tell your story? There are students, grads, alumni, employers, advisory board members, faculty, staff, and news editors who you can send releases to. There are organizations that you can connect with by being members or giving presentations. There are events that you can hold and invite the general public and there are many ways to get your school name, students, and staff out into the community. So - focus on what words you want disseminated and what "mouths" are available to send your message. Best wishes, Susan

It is true that being considered an expert in the field and having a good reputation create fantastic results when it comes to attracting potential students. This can be done by upholding great standards in your business and by helping others in the community. When experts mix with other experts, serious inquiries about enrollment abound!

Hi Christie

Interesting theory. Certainly expertise and reputation are ingredients to building a credible school. There are other standards as well. If you focus on quality and great "customer" service your students will be satisfied and successful and your employers will view you as the go-to school to seek staff. Thanks, Susan
