Newspaper release.

Information about our school is relayed through the admissions representative at college fairs, guidance visits and maintained relationships.

New strategies to implement would be the press release and community newspaper. The vice president of the schools is very involved in the community. He is the President of the chamber of commerce; this would be a great way to relay information about our school to the community.

I would probably take on the responsibility of creating and maintaining a monthly newspaper to display monthly information and events.

Hi Jaimie, The fact that your VP is president of the chamber is a GREAT opportunity.Lots of ways for members to learn about your school. The more people who know about your school, the more likely they will look to you for training. Ideas - hold an open house just for chamber members and family, ask to be on a chamber agenda, write something about the local economy and how your training impacts on it. You get the idea. Monthly newsletters are a great idea. Easiest and cost effective to email. That means you need lots of ways to capture emails of everyone - prospective students, students, staff, faculty, and lots more. And your newsletter has to be short, sweet, and very informational. Public relations is about getting the word out about your school every day! Good luck, Susan
