Publicity & Public Relations

Our PR department is non-existent, although we are beginning to lay the foundation for it. One of our campuses utilizes the local newspaper for publicity concerning their graduation ceremonies, community projects and graduate success stories. This does provide for a favorable image for the school and has been mentioned by prospective students. The major change that we will make is to model each campus after the previously mentioned campus.

HI Ronald
Most schools don't think about setting up a PR department. But, student service personnel may be able to handle it. As you have noticed, the biggest task is setting up publicity strategies that become almost automatic. Once done the receptionist can probably handle a lot. There are soooo many ways to get the word out about your school - certainly like graduation events. Sometimes there are people on staff that come forward to say they would enjoy handling PR. Once you are through the nitty gritty it is fun and creative.
Best wishes
Susan
