It's crucial to not only document all incidents in detail, including noting when parents and others need to be informed, but also to have a clear safety plan in place. This plan should be well-prepared, easy to understand, and something everyone in the facility is familiar with and ready to put into action whenever needed. 

Record and report all accidents in order ensure open communication with parents and supervisors. 

All incidents must be documented thoroughly, including note of contact of parents and others who need to be made aware. 

Assigning specific tasks is more eeftive than an all-pitch-in approach. 

Maintenance logs and routine inspections are necessary to maintain a safe environment. 

The NIOSH CHecklist Model is a helpful guide for incorporating a formal safety checksheet. 

All accidents must be documented and reported to avoid further complications.

Signage and safety tests help ensure that everyone understands the safety rules and procedures.

It's important to understand the chain of command in a school and/or District so as to know who to report accidents/incidents and steps.

Most incidents should be reported to parents unless it is a minimal situation.  Parents need to know when their children have been in an accident.

Emergency signs should be posted and emergency procedures should be discussed regularly.
