Grass roots marketing: How effective is it?

Grass Roots Marketing, or "Word of Mouth" is some of the best marketing you can get. Individuals are getting information from people they already trust. Your organization has to ensure they do everything possible to make sure the "Word of Mouth" marketing they receive is positive.

Word of mouth is the best. If you are honest and students are getting jobs then you are doing everything right.

Our school has been getting referrals from other students that have attended our classes. This has been so rewarding

Christina,
It depends upon your school, the market area and the demographics. Every marketing situation will be different.

Kary,
We like to believe so, but again, it depends upon your school and the particular area.

christine,

The nice aspect is that they are free!

I agree word of mouth is powerful. We have a lot of tours come in that say word of mouth from other future professionals or salon professionals refered them. Its rewards when salons send in students. I had a student come in that read through salon profiles that most of the students came from our schools. A great thing to hear.

Word of mouth adds credibility and personal recommendation to our school as each happy student can steer dozens of new ones our way.

Mary,

Personally developed leads pack a lot of power in the referral. Students that have been to your school and share their experience brings opportunity for referrals.

Rita,
This is a great way to get new students into your schools. Personally developed leads carry instant credibility and they're free.

I agree, lots takes into factor for word of mouth. When everything is great and working out perfectly thru word of mouth, it produces wonderful results for all.

Aristides,
Positive referrals for your institution through word-of-mouth is a great asset. When someone refers another to your school it is through their own experience the referral is made. We love that opportunity because it comes with so much credibility and it's free.

It depends upon your school, the market area and the demographics.

VIANKA,

It can even make a difference at a different location within the same city. Marketing needs to follow the target that is coming into your school and your particular area for your particular program.
