Training Manual

Our campus developed a comprehensive training manual a few years ago for new admissions representatives. Each employee receives copies/examples of pertinent forms and documents. It reminded me of the Resource Notebook concept. Our challenge is to keep it updated with present day processes and procedures. Participating in this module reminds me of how important this kind of resource is.

Having an Admissions training manual keep everyone on the same page. It allows the Admissions Department to follow rules and regulations within the Department, and if there is ever a question on a procudure, the manual is an excellent source

A training manual for the overall department as well as each individual's job description is extremely important. This manual will assist should someone have to fill in unexpectantly for an extended period of time - especially if there is no cross-training coverage taking place.

Anyone filling in should be well trained. Even with the best intentions, the wrong information could be given to the student.

Having this notebook updated allows us to always be on-top of the updates and with new-hires which we recently had is easy to train.. Very useful tool .

Another useful thing of training manuals is that you can always refer back to old processes to maybe see things that worked and didn't work so you can operate the best possible way.
